VIP Voice is a popular website for participating in online surveys and offers a way to provide feedback on the brands and retailers we care about.

Industry Presence

VIP Voice, formerly known as NPD Online Research, is an online survey panel with over 2 million members that is owned and operated by the NPD Group. Founded in 1967, the NPD Group is a market research firm that has been BBB-accredited since 1972 and currently has an A+ rating. It was ranked as the #9 top market research firm in the US in 2013 according to the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Honomichl Top 50 Report. NPD is also affiliated with CASRO and has received impressive accolades from companies like Clarins, Taco Bell/Yum Brands and Shell Lubricants Americas to name a few. It conducts research and provides advisory services in a number of industries including Automotive, Beauty, Consumer Electronics, Entertainment, Fashion, Food/Foodservice, Home, Luxury, Mobile, Office Supplies, Sports, Technology, Toys and Video Games. Its client list features more than 2,000 well-known companies from around the world that rely on NPD's customized reports and industry tracking information to help them make more informed business decisions.

Member Experience

It is free and easy to become a member of VIP Voice's panel. The panel is open to any legal US residents who are at least 13 years of age or any legal Canadian residents who are at least 18 years of age. Multiple memberships per household are permitted, and there is no minimum time commitment required to participate. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the basic registration process and verify your email address. During registration, you are required to provide your address, date of birth, gender, race, education level, marital status, household details, occupation and income. Once you have verified your email address, you will automatically be entered into a $1,000 quarterly sweepstakes and you will instantly be eligible to take surveys and participate in VIP Voice's rewards program.

Earning Opportunities

VIP Voice members can earn VIP points either by completing surveys, by playing the instant win game (US members only) or by successfully referring friends to join the panel. In addition to surveys, there may also be opportunities to participate in other types of projects (ex. online focus groups, in-home product testing, etc.) depending on the demand from NPD's clients. At the end of some surveys, US panelists will have the option of playing the instant win game for a chance to win cash (up to $500), bonus points (up to 500) or other fun prizes. Lastly, if you successfully refer a friend to join the VIP Voice panel, you will receive 1 entry into a $1,000 quarterly sweepstakes.

Rewards Program

VIP Voice compensates its members for their participation with VIP points. One VIP Point is worth one entry or one bid into your choice of a variety of sweepstakes (Sweepland®) and auctions (BidLand℠). Survey compensation is determined by VIP Voice's tiered rewards system with Levels 1 – 5 (new members start at Level 1). As you take more surveys, you will automatically move to higher levels where you will earn more points per survey and be eligible to participate in more of the sweepstakes and auctions offered. Has a points system which can be used to enter sweepstakes or bid on items. I really don't think it's worth the time, and you don't get a lot of points for surveys

"No Cash Rewards, Only Sweeps and Auctions"

VIP Voice has the downside of not letting you use your rewards for cash or gift cards. Your points accrue and can be used for sweepstakes entries or auctions, in which you can bid for unexciting items such as toasters and cheap coffeemakers. Surveys often ask about household purchases for the past month, or gas or oil purchases. There are usually a handful of survey opportunities each week, sometimes less.

I have been a member FOR YEARS....earning countless DRAWING ENTRIES, but never winning anything which was very disappointing and frustrating. I was thinking of dropping out, but surveys are usually not that long, so I stuck it out hoping MAYBE SOMEDAY, I'd win. Well...FINALLY -- this year, I won TWO drawings! A Year Long Magazine subscription, AND a NY YANKEE CAP (which my hubby loves).....So I guess I'll stay a member and hopefully win something even more valuable. Though I do wish they'd incorporate SAVING POINTS to redeem for free gift cards, instead of just the raffle format.
